Work Procedure for Retrofitting a Ureco
Eco Information MSD Sheets Work Procedure Instructions
Fitting a Ureco Refill Sleeve Into a Competitors Outlet
The following procedure is recommended when fitting a Ureco urinal outlet system to a competitors outlet which has been previously installed, in an attempt to reduce installation costs, however it is always highly recommended to install the Ureco Outlet to ensure maximum product performance and security.
CISTERN
1) Ensure the cistern is small enough to meet with new low flushing performance legislation. Remember that the Ureco only requires approximately 1/3rd of the flush volume of competitive sleeve systems. This can be quickly achieved by fitting “Hippo” or similar cistern volume reduction devices, which will further reduce the customer’s water consumption. “Ureco is designed to be a very low water use device”
2) Ensure the cistern is serviceable and clean and that the Auto flush is working correctly.
3) Check that if an electronic flushing device (
4) If a low cost timer is fitted please reprogram the timer to provide 2 flushes per day.
5) Ensure the flushing flow rate is suitable and that “urinal bowl” overflowing / back up conditions do not occur while flushing.
6) If excessively large sparge pipe work exists then it is recommended to fit a flow restrictor in the sparge pipe / pipes.
BOWL
1) Ensure the bowl and the outlet is serviceable and not stained with Urine
2) Also check the U Bend or Trap for cleanliness, internally and externally and that the local drains are free from uric salts, which will also cause urinal bowl flooding and foul odours
3) Ensure the Ureco has the correct adaptors fitted
4) If flooding and backup conditions still exist when flushing occurs, then it is permissible under controlled application to remove the cup from the end of the Ureco to gain a higher rate of flow away from the urinal bowl.
5) Deep cleaning around the urinal bowl is recommended to maintain good levels of hygiene.
